Two openings landed within weeks of each other this summer, and for anyone who already keeps a bike at the rack behind Fonville Press, the practical effect is that your week now has two clear centers of gravity instead of one. Town Center pulls you south for dinner. The Silva pulls you north into the pines for the middle of the day. The walk between them is short, and that is the whole point.
The July 2 opening that rewrites the dinner map
Indaco opened in Alys Beach on July 2, 2026, a modern Italian restaurant from The Indigo Road Hospitality Group built around fresh seafood, wood-fired pizzas, and hand-crafted pastas. It sits directly alongside O-Ku, the sushi concept the same group opened here in 2024, which means one operator now runs two full-service dinner rooms across the same courtyard. For an owner who used to cycle north on 30A for a change of cuisine, that is a real shift.
The kitchen is led by Chef Dakota Watson, working around a wood-fired oven and a fresh-pasta program. The room has a specific ordering pattern worth learning early: the "For the Table" offering is priced at $65 per person and includes a chef's choice, family-style three-course meal, which is the move for a house full of guests and a shorter argument at the table. The bar leans into a house style rather than a generic coastal cocktail list. The Dollar Slice pairs pizza-infused gin with basil, vermouth, and amaro, and the Indigo Spritz combines Pasubio, elderflower, blueberry, lime, and sparkling wine.
Hours matter for how it fits into a normal week. Indaco is open 4 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday to accommodate brunch service. Weekend brunch inside the walls is the useful piece of that schedule. It closes a gap Fonville Press and Raw & Juicy have carried alone.
The Silva is not a second Caliza
The other big change is at the opposite end of town. The Silva has been completed alongside the Nature Preserve, adding a resort-style pool, restaurant and bar, event lawn, and The Summerhouse pavilion, joining Caliza Pool, ZUMA Wellness Center, and the homeowner-exclusive Beach Club. The mistake is to read that list and assume it duplicates what Caliza already does. It does not.
Caliza is Mediterranean geometry, hard edges, sun on stone. The Silva is the opposite pole of the same community. The pool sits directly along the edge of the Preserve, treating the wetland landscape as its primary backdrop, and the adjacent lawn accommodates picnics, play, and outdoor movie nights. Inside The Summerhouse, reclaimed barn wood, exposed trusses, cypress ceilings, and a substantial fireplace create a warm interior, with large openings framing views across the lawns and wetlands.
A short comparison, for planning purposes:
- Caliza: adults, midday sun, cocktails on the rooftop terrace, dinner reservations that feel like an event
- The Silva: kids on the lawn, shade under a cedar shake roof, a screened bar for a slow afternoon, a fireplace to sit near when a Gulf front is blowing through in November
- The Beach Club: still the homeowner-only Gulf-front room, unchanged in role
- ZUMA: still the wellness anchor, with the pickleball and clay-court expansion carrying its own weight
The design intent is explicit. Hart Howerton partner Tim Slattery described The Silva as the point where the town transitions into the forest and connects to the winding boardwalk weaving through the pine woodland, a place for shade, seasonal color, and a restful retreat from the heat of the afternoon sun. In practical terms, it is the amenity you use on the day the sand is too hot at 2 p.m. and the older kids want a lawn.
A summer week, mapped
The reason both of these openings matter at once is that they let you build a week that never crosses 30A eastbound. Here is a plausible resident cadence for August, using only what is now inside the walls:

The retail edges keep filling in
The dinner map is the headline, but the shopping side of Town Center has been steadily working itself into the same picture. Boutiques including Barefoot Princess, Holiday Shop, Parasol, SummerStory, NEAT, and MERIT by Willow now sit alongside national brands including Alo Yoga and KREWE, along with The Alys Shoppe, and a new merchant, California-based apparel brand Rowan, opening this summer with responsibly made classics. If you have not walked the loop since spring, the tenant list is meaningfully different.
The programming layered on top is what makes this feel like a downtown rather than a strip. A recent example that tells the story: on the summer solstice, Alo hosted a private shopping hour from 8 to 9 a.m., Raw & Juicy ran Vinyasa yoga in the Amphitheatre from 9 to 10 with matcha and a closing sound bath, and Raw & Juicy's wellness director Swan Michelle stayed after to talk. What's already on the calendar after Labor Day
The summer additions matter more once you look at the fall and winter calendar they are feeding into. Two dates to hold now:
Crafted, November 11-12, 2026. Experiential dinners at Red Loggia at Caliza, George's at Alys Beach, and The Summerhouse at the Silva, with a Songwriter Round Table Session at Red Loggia on Wednesday evening. This is the first Crafted with The Summerhouse in the rotation, which spreads the weekend across three venues instead of two.
Digital Graffiti's new cadence. After the 19th festival ran May 15-16 this year, Digital Graffiti at Alys Beach is moving to a biennial format, next celebrating 20 years in May 2028. No festival next May. Plan accordingly if guests time visits around it.
The 30A Wine Festival still anchors February. Small Batch Dinners and Alys Classics continue to fill in the shoulder weeks. The pattern across all of it is the same as what Indaco and The Silva just did to the summer: more programming, tighter geography, less need to leave.
Where this leaves owners
A finished amenity collection is a different asset than an in-progress one. With the completion of The Silva, Alys Beach has finalized its collection of luxury amenities. That sentence is the one to sit with. It closes a chapter that has been open since 2004.
